Swiss Post is steadily expanding its CO2 offset model. It invests in selected environmental-protection projects and acquires high-quality emissions certificates.
Direct investments in environmental-protection projectsSwiss Post supports only current, high-calibre projects with tested and proven CO2 savings – e.g. wind parks, solar installations or biogas plants. The projects would not have been feasible without the additional financing from offset funds. As a Swiss company we are working to promote national projects as far as possible.
Acquisition of emissions certificatesEmissions certificates are securities that show that the issuers have offset a certain amount of CO2 on behalf of the purchasers. Swiss Post acquires only emissions certificates that correspond to the "Gold Standard". It thus ensures that the issuing companies contribute to protecting the environment by making special efforts.
