Frequently asked questions on PP franking

What is the difference between PP Easy and PP Business?

From a functional point of view, PP Easy is the same as the current P.P. stamp, except that an additional data matrix code is printed onto the item. The code is machine-readable and increases productivity. Data matrix codes are currently used to track items internally in the printing industry. With PP Business, Swiss Post has provided the specifications to enable the same code to be used as a franking impression as well.

What is a data matrix code?

Data matrix coding is used to allow a large quantity of information to be encoded in a smaller space than would be possible with a barcode. This makes the code easier to read and allows faster processing of consignments and complies with all security requirements.

What are the advantages of electronic PP franking compared with the existing form of PP franking?

The present process is time-consuming and cost-intensive. The Internet age offers customers and Swiss Post new options along the whole franking chain. The IT implementation means that control and process management can be optimized at reasonable cost and can be adjusted to customer processes simply and flexibly.
