Uneven thickness

Items with an uneven thickness will make stacking and mechanical separation more difficult.

Items with a significantly uneven thickness, for example because they contain buttons, coins, keys, sweets or other product samples, are not machine-processable and may get damaged in sorting machines (see also special items).

Items with an uneven thickness because they contain staples or paper clips can be processed by machine.

Tip:

To ensure that the cancellation is clean and to minimize wear and tear of cancellation equipment, please make sure that such items are not positioned in the franking and cancellation area, but in the top left-hand corner of the letter.
