Returns

If the item is not accepted by the recipient or the address proves invalid, the sender will be charged the cost of returning the item. The item will be returned at the "registered mail" rate.

In the case of returns of registered mail (R) with the additional service return receipt (AR), you pay the difference in price between the return and the return receipt surcharge paid.

Returns with instructions

If the item cannot be returned as registered mail (R), you can attach the following note:

  • “Return as A Mail”: the price paid for returned items is the appropriate A Mail rate.
  • “Return as B Mail”: the price paid for returned items is the basic price for bulk mailings of the appropriate format level.

Please note that these returns will not be recorded in delivery tracking (Track & Trace).

Delivery with directory If you wish, Swiss Post can provide you with a directory of all the items delivered to you with proof of delivery or barcode on a daily basis. This can be either a physical document or a data file (csv).
