Swiss Solidarity

A humanitarian collection system

Swiss Solidarity is the humanitarian collection system of the Swiss media. It works together with around 30 charities which seek precise agreements for short and long-term aid where it is needed.

Emergency and immediate aid is provided very quickly and unbureaucratically in the event of natural disasters. The lion's share of the donations is usually used for maintenance and reconstruction, which means sustainable aid.

Swiss Solidarity is currently financing around 220 projects in 43 countries totalling 180 million francs. The Swiss Solidarity funds undergo three financial audits and are among the most tightly controlled in Switzerland.

For fund-raising campaigns, Swiss Post pays the fees involved in transferring funds to the Swiss Solidarity postal account. Free inpayment slips are available in all post offices in Switzerland. Donors can also donate directly to Swiss Solidarity via Postomat as part of a donation drive. In addition, Swiss Post is absorbing the technical costs associated with donating via text message.
Thanks to its free services on behalf of Swiss Solidarity, Swiss Post is helping the aid organization to keep administrative costs to a minimum.
