Winterthur main post office

A historic building

The main post office in Winterthur, built between 1896-99, is a historic building of national importance. Right next to Winterthur station, it is situated in an ideal location. The project plan provides for a radial extension to the existing main building, which would include a courtyard.  Plans for future use include retail space of around 1,800 square metres and office space of around 6,800 square metres (in the old and new buildings).

Status of work

Planning permission was received on 26 November 2010. The definitive space requirements are currently being examined and determined with the units.
