Patrick Salamin, head of Group unit Post Offices and Sales, and member of Group Executive Management, is leaving Swiss Post on 6 July 2013. The main reasons are the differing views on leadership and cooperation held by him and Group management.

Patrick Salamin joined Swiss Post in 2003. In 2007, he was appointed head of the Post Offices and Sales Group unit due to his strong achievements, and he became a member of Group Executive Management. Under his leadership, Swiss Post initiated the realignment of the post office network. His special achievements comprise the introduction of new sales formats and their successful positioning with customers, authorities and political stakeholders as well as active sales of PostFinance services at post offices.

Franz Huber, deputy head of Post Offices and Sales, will take on the interim management of the Group unit on 6 July 2013. The search for Patrick Salamin’s successor will be launched immediately.

The Post Offices and Sales Group unit manages around 2’200 post offices and agencies as well as 1’200 postal home services. It employs 9’700 staff.
