Good initial result for Swiss Post’s parcel terminals

Since November 2013, Swiss Post has put 19 My Post 24 parcel terminals into operation in German-speaking and Western Switzerland, remaining on schedule with the construction of a nationwide network. The feedback from customers on My Post 24 has been positive. They are already using the parcel terminals to send and receive several hundred consignments per day. In light of the good start, Swiss Post is planning an expansion of its services, for example by making it possible in the future to address registered letters to a My Post 24 parcel terminal.

Swiss Post’s My Post 24 parcel terminals have got off to a good start. Since last November, Swiss Post has put 19 terminals into operation in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. By mid-July, there will be 22. There has been a positive response from customers to the service: several hundred parcels are already sent and received using My Post 24 each day. With My Post 24, customers can pick up and drop off their parcels flexibly at most locations around the clock, seven days a week. Swiss Post is planning a nationwide network at well-frequented locations in the medium term.

Expansion over the last mile

Swiss Post is on schedule in bringing its parcel terminals into service. There are now terminals in the cantons of St. Gallen, Zurich, Berne, Solothurn, Basel, Lucerne, Geneva, Vaud and Valais. In light of the positive feedback from customers, Swiss Post is planning an expansion of its My Post 24 services, for example by making it possible in the future for customers to receive registered letters at the parcel terminals. There are also plans to install parcel terminals in residential areas. These new developments make life more convenient for customers, because they can combine their parcel business with the other errands they are running, and can increasingly take care of it closer to home.

Flexibility and convenience when shopping online

The growth of online retail and social change mean that customers want more flexibility in receiving and returning their consignments. Swiss Post has developed new services that meet these needs. Besides My Post 24, these services include pick@home, which allows customers to have their parcels collected from home or another address by the mail carrier. In addition, online retailers can instruct Swiss Post to deliver their parcels in the evenings or on Saturdays. Missed parcels and registered letters can be managed online. And with PickPost, customers can have their consignments delivered to over 700 alternative locations.
