Of the roughly 63,000 Swiss Post employees, more than 2,000 are trainees. 678 apprentices successfully completed their training at Swiss Post this summer, with 8.5 per cent of them awarded an overall mark of 5.3 or higher. Many of them will remain at Swiss Post after their apprenticeship: more than half will start their first job in the company where they trained.

At the beginning of the apprenticeship in summer 2017, more than 750 young people will be able to choose a training place in 15 different professions, whether in sales, communication, logistics, IT or maintenance. The wide range of basic training opportunities gives school leavers a great start to their professional lives. The application process for apprenticeship places in 2017 is already open.

“Jump-in” - Joining the yellow world

More than 800 young people will begin their training with Swiss Post in the coming days. They get to know each other and Swiss Post as an employer during an intensive “Jump-in” week. At more than ten different locations throughout Switzerland, the apprentices acquire basic knowledge about Swiss Post through workshops and a number of different courses while getting to know each other during sports activities and games. Swiss Post Vocational Training has offered this start to professional life for some 15 years. After this intensive start, the young people begin their training in their respective units. Thanks to the Jump-in, they already have numerous contacts whom they will be able to call on in the coming years.

Furthermore, 10 students will join Swiss Post to start their practice-integrated Bachelor’s degree course (PiBS) organized by Swiss Post in cooperation with the Swiss Distance University of Applied Sciences (FFHS).
