Most Swiss Post online services accessible again

Since 10 a.m. today, several Swiss Post and PostFinance online services have been temporarily unavailable. The disruption affected Swiss Post’s core network, and also had an impact on many of Swiss Post’s internal IT systems. The disruptions to Swiss Post’s systems have in the meantime been mostly resolved. The exact cause of the disruption is currently being investigated. Swiss Post does not believe the cause arose from any external source. Data security was guaranteed at all times during the disruption.
Due to a network disruption on Wednesday morning, many of Swiss Post’s systems experienced temporary failure. The services affected included PostFinance payment transactions, e-finance and several Swiss Post online services such as consignment tracking and management, as well as internal systems such as e-mail and telephony.
Most systems online again
Most of Swiss Post’s systems have been online again and functioning normally since midday. Swiss Post’s specialists are working intensively to fully resolve the disruption, and are analysing the cause of the system failure.
Cause still unclear
The exact cause of the failure has not yet been fully clarified. However, Swiss Post does not believe the cause arose from any external source. Data security was guaranteed at all times during the disruption. Swiss Post will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
