Here’s how it works
The customer reports the damage within eight days.
The Swiss Post employee sends a link to the customer’s smartphone via SMS, during the phone call or at an agreed time.
After opening the link, an encrypted connection and live camera feed starts.
The Swiss Post employee can view the consignment via the camera.
Once the connection has ended, access cannot be reactivated.
The customer still has the option of bringing the damaged consignment to a branch.
Swiss Post is testing the “EmergencyEye” technology, developed by the company Corevas as a convenient way to report damage via smartphone. It was originally designed for sharing initial images of an emergency situation and has already been successfully implemented in a number of control rooms in Germany.
