By appointing Christian Plüss, 56, as the new Head of PostBus, the Board of Directors has completed the arrangements for ensuring a definitive successor to Daniel Landolf as Head of PostBus. Christian Plüss obtained a PhD from the ETH and has many years of management experience in various Swiss and international companies, most recently as Head of the Hydro Power Generation business unit at Alpiq SA. Before that he was Director of the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology and held management roles at Erdgas Ostschweiz AG and SBB. He has also gained experience in various directorships.

“Swiss Post looks forward to working with Christian Plüss and we are sure that with the considerable experience he has gained in various sectors, he has the necessary expertise to successfully lead the company going forward,” says Urs Schwaller, Chairman of the Board of Directors. By appointing Plüss, the Board of Directors is paving the way for a fresh start at the highest level of PostBus.

Christian Plüss is well aware of the future challenges he faces given the exceptional circumstances: “I look forward to taking over at the helm of such of a strong brand with its numerous stakeholders. PostBus is a central pillar of Swiss public service, something which has always been close to my heart.”

Until Christian Plüss takes up his role by the beginning of 2019 at the latest, PostBus will continue to be led by Thomas Baur. Baur has been interim Head of PostBus since 6 February 2018 and in recent weeks he has already lined up important strategic and organizational changes at PostBus.
