Confederation approves Swiss Post’s financial statements and confirms Maria Teresa Vacalli as a member of the Board of Directors

Yesterday, the General Meeting of Swiss Post Ltd approved the 2021 consolidated and annual financial statements. The dividend distribution from Swiss Post to the Confederation amounts to 50 million francs. The General Meeting also elected Maria Teresa Vacalli to the Swiss Post Board of Directors. Maria Teresa Vacalli succeeds Philippe Milliet, who served on the Board of Directors for the maximum term of office.

As the sole shareholder of Swiss Post, the Confederation approved all proposals made by the Board of Directors at the General Meeting on 3 May. As in the previous year, the dividend paid to the Confederation by Swiss Post for 2021 amounts to 50 million francs. The General Meeting also approved the 2021 consolidated and annual financial statements. The Confederation additionally acknowledged that the upper limits for Board of Directors fees and Executive Management salaries were respected in 2021 and approved the upper limits for these salaries for the 2023 financial year. Moreover, the General Meeting granted the members of the Board of Directors full discharge for the 2021 financial year.

New member of the Board of Directors

The General Meeting elected Maria Teresa Vacalli as a member of the Swiss Post Board of Directors as of 3 May 2022. Maria Teresa Vacalli was born in Ticino in 1971. She studied industrial engineering at ETH Zurich. Her career began in 1998 as a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She has since held various positions at Ernst & Young, Cablecom GmbH, Sunrise Communication AG and Basler Kantonalbank. Most recently, she was CEO of Bank Cler. Maria Teresa Vacalli has held a number of positions on boards of directors since 2013. The 50-year-old is currently a Member of the Advisory Board for Kontivia AG, a Member of the Foundation Board for Gfm − Swiss Marketing Society, and a Member of the Board of Directors for ETH Juniors. She will also be nominated as a Member of the Board of Directors for Burckhardt Compression Holding Ltd at the company’s General Meeting on 1 July 2022. With her experience and expertise in digitization and banking, Maria Teresa Vacalli will be a valuable addition to the Swiss Post Board of Directors. She succeeds Philippe Milliet, member of the Board of Directors and Vice-Chairman, who has served on the Swiss Post Board of Directors for the maximum term of 12 years. In his many years on the Board, Philippe Milliet has played a significant role in the successful development of Swiss Post. The Board of Directors would like to thank Philippe Milliet for his valuable contribution, marked by his extensive entrepreneurial experience and constant endeavours in the interests of Swiss Post.
