Swiss Post tops world rankings once again

The Universal Postal Union (UPU) has carefully assessed postal organizations all over the world based on various quality criteria, and produced a set of rankings. The UPU defined new measurement methods and criteria, but the outcome remains the same, with Swiss Post scoring the highest number of points. This achievement was only possible thanks to the huge commitment and endeavour of our employees, who are the heartbeat and face of the leading postal service worldwide.

9 October is World Post Day. The UPU, founded in 1874, has been celebrating international cooperation between all postal organizations worldwide on this day since 1969. The UPU has also presented an award to the world’s best postal organizations for the past six years. This year, it once again assessed the postal companies and rated them based on defined criteria in ten categories. The UPU publishes the results in its Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD), a study on the development status of postal organizations around the world.

Switzerland leads the way for the sixth time in a row

The UPU’s Integrated Index for Postal Development assesses the postal organizations of 172 countries based on their performance in terms of reliability, reach, relevance and resilience. Swiss Post performed well in previous years, particularly due to the high quality of its services, its diversification and the vitally important role it plays for the nation. Swiss Post – with all its services – connects people and companies in Switzerland. It does so while charging the same prices in every region and locality in Switzerland. The current strategy ensures Swiss Post is well positioned for an increasingly digital future. Swiss Post always focuses on its core business. It consistently prioritizes the requirements of people and companies in Switzerland – whether physical or digital.

In 2022, Swiss Post – together with five other postal organizations – is at the top of the highest category “Postal Excellence”. Of the six postal organizations in the top “Level 10”, Swiss Post once again achieved the highest points total – for the sixth consecutive time.

Credit goes to our highly committed employees

Roberto Cirillo, CEO of Swiss Post, is delighted by his company’s excellent performance in the study once again. “I’m really pleased to win this accolade, mainly because it acknowledges the tireless commitment and day-to-day work of our staff. The award is well-deserved recognition of the efforts of our employees, whether working at Swiss Post branches, at the parcel and letter centers, being out in all weathers in delivery, or making huge efforts to provide our digital services,” says Roberto Cirillo. Swiss Post isn’t a shell consisting of concrete and technology. “Our employees are our greatest asset. They’re the heartbeat and face of Swiss Post. Executive Management hugely appreciates their tireless efforts every day. Our task is to establish the conditions for employees so that we can remain the world’s best postal service.”
