On 1 September 2012 Susanne Ruoff will follow Jürg Bucher as the CEO of Swiss Post, and so the Board of Directors has selected a successor with a proven track record of some twenty years in senior management at IBM and BT Switzerland (British Telecom). Ms Ruoff, a 53 year old trained economist, has held her current post as Country Manager and CEO of BT Switzerland since 1 April 2009. There she has concentrated on expanding business with major customers and on the acquisition of new clients. Prior to joining BT (British Telecom) Susanne Ruoff held various managerial positions in marketing, distribution and services at IBM, and, as head of the Public Sector Division, she was able to establish lasting contacts with the Federal Government and the Federal Administration. By the end of her twenty years with IBM Ms Ruoff was a member of the Executive Board and responsible for Global Technology services.

The challenges of the electronic world

Thanks especially to her expertise in the digital market Susanne Ruoff will strengthen Swiss Post Executive Management in facing its coming challenges; the demand from Swiss Post customers for electronic services will continue to rise, and correspondingly Swiss Post intends to continue its strategy of systematically combining the physical and electronic postal worlds. With her expertise Ms Ruoff will actively support and facilitate this transition. Working for multinational companies Ms Ruoff has acquired wide experience of various cultures and mentalities, a factor which was a major influence in her being selected.

Susanne Ruoff has a degree in economics, and qualified as an Executive Master of Business Administration of the University of Freiburg. She graduated as Client Executive from INSEAD (France), and completed a course on “Corporate Governance in Executive Boards” at the University of St. Gallen.

Susanne Ruoff is married, has two children and lives in Crans-Montana.
