PostBus now has a new app to offer its passengers: the PostBus App. It can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store for Android devices and from the Apple Store for iPhones/iPads. The PostBus App is available in German, French, Italian and English and can be used for business or leisure and by tourists. 

Timetable information in real time 

The PostBus App includes a wealth of applications. The timetable function comprises departure and arrival time queries for all PostBus routes. In eastern Switzerland, Valais and the metropolitan area of Berne, the information can already be accessed in real time. The availability of real-time information is indicated by the label «RT» (Real Time), which is placed next to the route number. Real-time information will be made available gradually in other regions of Switzerland as well. Information on the planned or actual arrival or the time until arrival of a postbus at a stop can, for instance, be accessed in real time. Furthermore, the timetable function can be used to save routes as favourites or to receive disruption messages for selected routes. 

Information for everyday use 

The «Daily on the way» function supports passengers in their everyday travel, for instance with information on local transport, the «PubliCar» on-call bus services, and the night bus connections or on the travel cards accepted by PostBus. It also integrates a calculator for surcharges on tourist PostBus routes (Alpine Ticket). The «Travel and Leisure» category includes leisure tips and offers, an audio guide for various routes, information on the historic «ViaPostAlpina» routes as well as on available reduced-rate tickets. Competitions and games for entertainment are also available, as are numerous multimedia offers and augmented reality applications. It goes without saying that the world-famous «Dee-daa-doo» of the Swiss Post horn can be downloaded as a ring tone (Android only) or played back.
