Swiss Post mourns the death of Board of Directors member Michel Gobet

Michel Gobet, a member of Swiss Post’s Board of Directors and a representative of the syndicom trade union, passed away last Thursday, 13 February 2020. We are saddened by the news of Michel Gobet’s death and wish to express our deepest condolences to his family.

65-year-old Michel Gobet represented Swiss Post employees on the Board of Directors since 2010. The native of Neuchâtel showed tremendous passion and commitment in dealing with HR issues. Chairman of the Board of Directors Urs Schwaller says: “We have not only lost a knowledgeable expert on the Board of Directors, but, in particular, a highly esteemed and long-serving colleague.”

Committed to the interests of Swiss Post employees

Michel Gobet began his career in the postal sector in 1982 as the Central Secretary of the PTT Union, and he then served as Deputy Secretary General from 1994. In 1999, he was appointed Central Secretary of syndicom, the trade union for the media and communications sectors. He joined the Swiss Post Board of Directors in 2010 as a representative of the trade union and spent ten years working with great commitment, particularly in the interests of Swiss Post employees. Most recently, he served on the Investment, Mergers & Acquisitions (BoD IMAC) Committee and on the ad-hoc committee on PostBus. The members of the Board of Directors will remember Michel Gobet as a sincere and highly esteemed colleague.
