National Future Day was held on 10 November. The events at Swiss Post, PostFinance and PostBus were well attended and the programme was varied and fun. The children were bubbling over with ideas during the various workshops.

One workshop provided the young visitors with an opportunity to invent the delivery vehicle of the future using Lego. Some fly, others can drive, fly or swim, or all of these. There are no limits to the future.

National Future DayTarget not accessible, organized jointly by Swiss Post, PostFinance and PostBus at various locations, was very well received. Over 400 children took part in the various events at the locations and were able to familiarize themselves with some of the 100 or more professions that Swiss Post offers. The children touched on the future of Swiss Post and were very resourceful in solving their tasks. One group even invented a “Postcopter”.

Valentina also took part. I wonder if she followed the same programme as the others...

Similarly, in another workshop, they learned how to navigate spaceships in outer space and how programming works.

Programming, robots and other gadgets were on the agenda in the field of informatics. They were also given insights into mediamatics through photography, drawing and photo editing.

Those interested in mediamatics were able to get their hands on the camera right away. This profession also met with great interest.

At PostBus, the children enjoyed a short ride in a London taxi Postbus before completing a varied postal run.

At PostFinance in Bern and Zofingen, the children were able to learn a lot of useful information about money and how to handle it. Other workshops included online security and how a Postomat works. A tour of the PostFinance Arena gave them a good sense of the ice hockey atmosphere.

If you have children at home who will soon be choosing a career, Swiss Post offers 19 apprenticeships, various entry-level opportunities for secondary school students as well as internships and a great trainee programme for students and graduates.
