“I want to help colleagues who are overloaded at the moment”

Thanks to Swiss Post’s internal jobs site, Marcel Stauffer has temporarily accepted a second job: he delivers parcels in the mornings, then in the afternoons he organizes everything related to Swiss Post events.

Marcel works as an event manager in Corporate Communication. As virtually all the events at Swiss Post have been postponed, he has spare capacity. “It’s important to me to help colleagues who are really overloaded at the moment,” he says, explaining his motivation. “Together we can demonstrate that Swiss Post is a reliable partner, even in this crisis.” He applied to be a parcel carrier in Lyss via the internal jobs site. He now delivers parcels in Frienisberg every morning. Google Maps is essential on his delivery rounds as he has to go out on his own due to social distancing rules. His impressions after a week: “I really enjoy getting so much exercise in the fresh air, as well as meeting grateful customers. And in the afternoons I’m much more efficient in my home office.”
