Swiss Post is more than just yellow

June is the official Pride month worldwide. Most activities have been cancelled this year due to coronavirus. But Swiss Post has come up with a great way of expressing its solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community.

As an employer, Swiss Post has long been committed to diversity and inclusion. With over 54,000 employees worldwide, we are a reflection of society. All Swiss Post employees and customers are welcome, regardless of their background, language, religion or sexual orientation.

Commitment to the community

Swiss Post has been committed to Switzerland’s Pride community for a number of years. The internal LGBTQIA+ network RAINBOW – which raises the concerns of employees from the community and helps create networks for them – plays a leading role in this area. “As lots of activities have unfortunately been cancelled due to the pandemic, we were looking for other ways to raise our profile,” explains Simon Graf, Co-Chair of the network.

Showing all the colours of the rainbow

To send a message of solidarity with LGBTQIA+ this year despite the challenging situation, RAINBOW came up with a brilliant idea: “We’re going to light up Swiss Post’s headquarters in Bern, the Sihlpost in Zurich and the historic Mont Blanc branch in Geneva in the colours of the rainbow.” The buildings will be illuminated at the beginning of June, but the rainbows will be displayed for the entire month.

L = lesbian

G = gay

B = bisexual

T = trans*

Q = queer/questioning

I = intersex

A = asexual/aromantic/agender

+ = everyone else who feels part of the queer community.

This initiative has my full backing. Swiss Post is right here – for everyone. And I’m proud that in RAINBOW we have a strong internal network supporting the community’s concerns.
