Originally developed in 2020, Swiss Post is continuing its “Swiss Post of tomorrow” strategy until 2028 and is adapting it to current market conditions, while always keeping the 2030 horizon in mind. Through the expansion and development of its products and range of services, Swiss Post is strengthening its market position and modernizing its branches. It is entering into targeted partnerships to achieve this. There is an even greater focus on customers and their needs, especially private customers and SMEs. At the same time, Swiss Post engages in regular dialogue with its political stakeholders and aligns itself with the strategic goals set by the Federal Council. Postal legislation provides the regulatory and legal framework.
Swiss Post invests in line with the needs of its customers
To ensure it can promptly react to current and future trends, Swiss Post has set itself a clear goal: it wants to continuously improve and develop its entire range of services so that, in future, it offers all of its customers added value – whether they are companies, authorities or private individuals. To achieve this, it is expanding its presence in selected markets and increasing investment in areas where new customer needs exist or will arise. It is not about growing as a company, but instead restoring balance to the Swiss Post system. Growth allows Swiss Post to finance the universal service with its own resources and provides the means for future investment in our country’s infrastructure.
To achieve this, it will continue to focus on the logistics, communications, mobility and financial services markets. The markets are organized into four Group units and supplemented by PostalNetwork – the face of Swiss Post for private customers and SMEs. Together, the units aim to ensure that people, companies and authorities in Switzerland and beyond can interact safely and seamlessly. Swiss Post’s mission and core competency is front and center: the trustworthy transport of goods, information, people and values – with physical and digital services. Swiss Post wants to continuing building on its strengths in the digital age just as it has done with mail secrecy for over 175 years.
Five Group units for a strong Swiss Post of tomorrow
All of the Group units work side by side to meet customers’ needs and secure Swiss Post’s future:
The Logistics Services unit ensures that letters, parcels and goods, along with newspapers and advertising, are delivered safely and efficiently. Swiss Post will continue expanding its leading position as a broad-based logistics services provider in the future – for Switzerland and across its borders.
Digital Services enables trustworthy digital communication for people, companies and authorities, with intuitive interactions and secure data handling. Swiss Post wants to continue strengthening its role as a relevant provider of digital communication.
Mobility Services connects the city and the countryside with environmentally-friendly mobility and offers sustainable and flexible mobility solutions for Swiss Post and business customers. Swiss Post will remain the market leader for road-based public transport in future and is a driving force behind the e-mobility transformation.
PostFinance offers its customers in Switzerland the right financial services, promotes cashless payment transactions and impresses them with its passion and customer centricity. The interest differential business is still vital to PostFinance. Alongside this, it is strengthening the non-interest-related business with core business-related solutions.
PostalNetwork makes Swiss Post’s products and services accessible for all. Various channels are available if queries arise, including the Contact Center and WhatsApp. The unit will respond to the needs of its private customers and SMEs in future with a strong network of 2,000 staffed branches along with numerous other access points, such as terminals and the home service.
