Fair Recycling Foundation’s project contributes towards environmentally friendly recycling of fridges in Brazil. The recycling process completely removes greenhouse gases contained in refrigerators, and 95 percent of the recyclable materials contained in each fridge can be brought back into the production cycle. Additionally, the project promotes social development: by undergoing recycling training, socially disadvantaged population groups gain qualifications for the labour market.

The project is Swiss Charter Standard-certified.

The aim of this project is to distribute better wood stoves amongst the Ugandan population. The stoves are made locally and use up to 50 percent less charcoal. This means that households can save up to 100 dollars a year. The wood stoves replace traditional stoves that run on charcoal. As less charcoal is needed for cooking, deforestation is also reduced.

This is the biggest project of its kind in East Africa, and the first stove project in the world to be Gold Standard-certified.

The storage of liquid manure and dung is an agricultural activity, but it does lead to the production of methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Modern biodigesters on Swiss farms collect this greenhouse gas and use it to produce heat and electricity – thus turning methane, which is harmful to the climate, into a clean energy source for eco-electricity.

The aim of this project is to provide socially disadvantaged population groups, particularly the Dalits and Janajatis, with safe ways to cook. Less efficient, traditional stoves are replaced by wood stoves. This reduces air pollution, as well as the amount of money that has to be spent on healthcare. Additionally, participants in the new stove project do not need as much firewood.

The project is Gold Standard-certified.

Generation of electricity from wind energy is a sustainable alternative to fossil energy sources. No non-renewable raw materials that emit CO₂ are used or burned, which reduces the use of fossil fuels. We are supporting an Indian wind farm project where the electricity generated is fed into the Indian grid.

The project is “Verified Carbon Standard” (VCS)-certified.
