“pro clima” shipment
Carbon emissions fully offset

Rich Content Section

As part of its climate commitment, reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency are top priorities for Swiss Post. Of the more than 14,500 Swiss Post vehicles, around half are already powered by alternative drive systems. By 2025, we will largely be delivering consignments to urban areas of Switzerland with electric vehicles . The unavoidable carbon emissions that arise when sending items will be offset.

Since 2012, Swiss Post has offset carbon emissions from domestic letter mail, with promotional mailings added to the programme in 2017. As of 1 January 2021, all Swiss Post consignments are sent with the “pro clima” label, meaning that their carbon emissions have been offset. “All consignments” means everything from letters, parcels and small consignments right through to press products – both in Switzerland and abroad.

Swiss Post covers all surcharges incurred for the carbon offsetting. Carbon offsetting is undertaken by supporting climate protection projects that meet the highest standards in Switzerland and abroad.

Use our “pro clima” label

You can download and use the “pro clima” label by agreeing to adhere to the conditions of use. Due to international definitions from the IPCC and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), as well as Swiss Post’s own climate targets, we don’t use the phrase climate-neutral shipping. Instead, the terms “pro clima” shipment or carbon-offset consignments are used.
