“pro clima” shipping
Voluntary climate protection outside our value chain

Rich Content Section

We deliver letters, parcels and press products with the “pro clima” label in Switzerland and abroad. As a result, CO2 emissions from the transport and delivery of letters, parcels and press products in Switzerland and abroad, which are still unavoidable today, are offset. We cover all surcharges incurred for the CO2 offset of letters, parcels and press products on behalf of our customers. Swiss Post invests around 1.3 million francs per year in “pro clima” shipping. The volumes offset each year are shown in our Annual ReportTarget not accessible.

With “pro clima”, Swiss Post has been supporting climate protection projects in Switzerland and abroad since 2009. To offset CO2 emissions, we select climate protection projects that meet recognized standards and Swiss Post’s high sustainability standards. An independent third party body checks all climate protection projects against 14 quality criteria such as additionality, double counting or leakage effects. We review the calculation of the compensation volume and the number of certificates as part of the annual greenhouse gas performance audit.

Use our “pro clima” label

You can download and use the “pro clima” label by agreeing to adhere to the conditions of use. Due to international definitions from the IPCC and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), as well as Swiss Post’s own climate targets, we don’t use the phrase climate-neutral shipping. Instead, the terms “pro clima” shipping or CO2-offset consignments are used.

Label printing on IFS devices

It has been possible to activate the new label on the IFS device directly on the display since 1 January 2021. You decide yourself whether to activate the label. Swiss Post recommends activating it, as we would like to include the “pro clima” label on all consignments. For queries or problems with the IFS device, please contact the device or system manufacturer.
