How to use more sustainable packaging
By making the packaging process more environmentally friendly, you help to save CO2. The three keywords, reduce, reuse and recycle, serve as a guide.
-
Reduce: choose the right packaging size
Do not send a small item in an oversized box. The right size saves filling material and transport vehicles can be better utilized – this saves fuel and reduces CO2. What’s more, smaller, lighter parcels mean lower postage costs.
-
Reuse: use packaging and filling material multiple times
Instead of throwing the packaging away, it can often be used multiple times. Important: remove old labels before reusing the packaging.
-
Recycle: dispose of packaging and filling material properly
Make sure that the packaging and filling material you select are recyclable and that you dispose of them properly. Recyclable filling material consists, for example, of organic packaging flakes, wood shavings, newspaper or corrugated cardboard.
