E-mobility, not emissions
Because every kilometre counts
Rich Content Section
As part of our ambitious sustainability strategy, we are gradually switching to delivering all letters and parcels by electric vehicle throughout Switzerland. With the largest e-mobility fleet in Switzerland today, we are already making an important contribution to the energy transition and reducing our CO2 footprint.
Our goals for low-emission delivery
By 2040, we will achieve net zero across the entire value chain.
- Thanks to the switch to e-mobility throughout Switzerland.
- Thanks to the switch to renewable energy in our in-house operations.
What we have already achieved
Since 2022, we have replaced 7,500 of our total of 10,500 fossil-fuel-powered vehicles with electric vehicles.
In more than 470 municipalities in Switzerland, we now deliver 52% of parcels using electric vehicles. The map shows what proportion of parcels we deliver with our electric vehicles and where.
How we are reducing CO2 emissions with e-mobility
Our greatest savings in CO2 emissions come from switching to renewable energy for our transport operations. Over the so-called last mile in delivery, we can act immediately, as almost all vehicles are owned by Swiss Post.
No sooner said than done: since the end of 2025, 70 percent of all delivery vehicles have been electrically powered. These include three-wheeled scooters, all of which have been electric since 2017, and delivery vans, the conversion of which has been in progress since 2022.
By the time we have reached our 2030 target, we will have made a significant contribution to Swiss Post’s overarching goal of reducing its CO2 emissions from in-house operations (Scopes 1 and 2) by 42% compared to 2021. In addition, delivery by electric vehicles contributes decisively to reducing CO2 emissions throughout the Swiss logistics sector.
E-mobility is the future. We already have the largest fleet of electric vehicles in Switzerland. We are consciously investing in modern technologies and hope that our procurement volumes will accelerate technological development on the market, making e-mobility even more accessible. This is how we are proactively driving forward the energy transition in the sector.

Battery recycling
The Swiss manufacturer of our e-scooters has a multi-life conceptTarget not accessible. The company makes use of used batteries for other vehicles and recycles them using an innovative process. 95 percent of the entire battery can be reused in this way.
