Affordable and clean energy.

Swiss Post has an impact on the targets 7.2, 7.3 and 7.a, as it:

  • continually reduces its high annual energy consumption via numerous measures, e.g. in its buildings, for its vehicles and in terms of staff mobility,
  • has improved its energy efficiency by 34% up to the end of 2019, exceeding its ambitious energy efficiency goal of –25% compared with 2006 ahead of schedule,
  • continually electrifies its delivery fleet and, as a member of the EV100 Initiative (Electric Vehicles), is committed to switching as much of its fleet as possible to electric drives by 2030,
  • does not use fossil fuels when installing and replacing heating systems, is committed to the DGNB sustainable construction standard as adapted for Switzerland and is accelerating the replacement  of fossil fuel heaters,
  • operates on its roofs some of Switzerland’s largest photovoltaic systems, which together produce 7 GWh of solar power each year,
  • obtains all of its electricity from renewable energy sources from Switzerland. At least 20% is “naturemade star” certified eco-electricity from small hydropower plants, biomass plants, solar panels or wind turbines.
