Address and geodata
Up-to-date reference data for correcting your addresses

Anchor Navigation

Swiss Post provides various reference data for address maintenance so that your customer address data can be easily checked for postal validity and corrected. “Street directory with sorting data” also offers excellent foundations for the preliminary sorting of your physical mailing. Or would you prefer to have this directory enriched with geographical coordinates? That’s also not a problem.

Address and geodata

For optimum address maintenance, a range of reference data are available free of charge in this online service.

Street directory with sorting data

Swiss Post’s free street directory includes the address information of all buildings served by the postal system in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein – including sorting data. This street directory is regularly updated and can be used as a reference for postal validation of customer addresses. First names and last names are not included in the data.

When used with suitable matching software, “Street directory with sorting data” can also be used as a basis for preliminary sorting when sending letter mail (addressed bulk mailings, newspapers and magazines and catalogues of up to 1,000 g). This helps you to save on costs. You can read more about this under Upstream services for letter processing.

The advantages:

  • Street, sorting and postcode file consolidated in one file
  • Complete directory for Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein
  • Seamless integration into your own CRM system (no software)
  • Includes automatic sequencing key (GFS) information
  • Practical tool for preliminary sorting of large quantities by delivery office
  • Updated in two-weekly cycles via downloads

Swiss Post’s reference data is unique in terms of its topicality and completeness – and doesn’t cost a single centime. Use this valuable information and improve the quality of your customer addresses!

You can obtain the latest “Street directory with sorting data” via the Download Center for the“Address and geodata” online service free of charge. All you need is a Swiss Post user account.

Street directory with geographical coordinates including altitude information

In addition to address details, this data file includes geographical longitude and latitude as well as altitude information that Swiss Post has gathered and constantly updates for all buildings served by the postal system in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Based on these building coordinates, the building addresses can be visualized, for example on digital maps.

As a result, the “Street directory with geographical coordinates including altitude information” can be used as a basis for your own corporate use of geographical information systems (GIS).

Data from the “Street directory with geographical coordinates including altitude information” service is acquired subject to a charge and is available via the Download Center for the “Address and geodata” online service.
