Fundraising requires reliable address data, but, for Aqua Viva, maintaining addresses has long been a time-consuming manual process. Today, the NPO keeps its addresses up to date at all times itself with Salesforce, the Nexellerator address management tool and Swiss Post’s address data – with high quality and efficient maintenance. It allows the company to deploy its resources more effectively for water conservation.

Aqua Viva is committed to the protection and restoration of native rivers, streams and lakes. The NPO is financed primarily by donations, membership fees and foundation funds. A key part of fundraising is sending personalized direct mailings to existing contacts. Aqua Viva sends out around 35,000 donation and membership letters every year in around thirteen campaigns.
Until now, the NPO “rather neglected” address management, says Christian Felber, Project Manager at Aqua Viva. This meant it had to synchronize the entire address database four times a year, even though it would also be possible to update selected addresses. This manual process, carried out with the help of external parties, was time-consuming, error-prone and inefficient. This raised the question of how the addresses could be maintained entirely in-house in a campaign-based, efficient and high-quality manner.
Direct connection to the Swiss Post database
In 2024, the NPO decided to introduce Salesforce as a CRM solution and connect it directly to Swiss Post’s address database using the Swiss Post address management Nexellerator tool. Nexellerator is a tool for efficient address management that accesses Swiss Post’s database and facilitates address maintenance directly in Salesforce. This Nexellerator solution was developed by software company Nexell, a Swiss Post partner in CRM and IT. Non-profit organizations and companies that regularly run dialogue marketing campaigns benefit from the tool’s high data quality and improved deliverability.
Quick access to up-to-date addresses
It has given Aqua Viva access to automated address maintenance directly in the CRM, which requires only a few clicks and always provides up-to-date, correct data. The NPO now has the highest quality data and updates its addresses as required prior to each campaign. Contacts are selected according to various criteria and added to the campaign, while the addresses are compared and stored correctly in the system.
Address comparison is no longer an issue – it simply runs in the background and saves us a great deal of time and effort.

Seamless technical integration, easy to use
The introduction of Salesforce was time-consuming for Aqua Viva, but the integration of the Nexellerator went smoothly without any additional effort for the organization. “We adapt the Nexellerator individually to our customers’ processes and requirements,” says John Sas, founder and managing director of Nexell. Christian Felber adds: “I found integration to be supportive and solution-oriented. Our requirements were incorporated and integrated into the solution. Right from the very first campaign, I was thrilled with how easy and intuitive the address comparison process was. Today, the admin staff can carry out the comparison itself in just a few minutes – without any additional human or time resources.

Aqua Viva – Switzerland’s water conservation organization
On 19 March 1960, pioneers of the Swiss environmental movement founded the Rheinaubund, known as Aqua Viva since 2012. The reason lay in the protests against the construction of the Rheinau power plant. The association’s founders aimed to conserve and restore natural water habitats in Rheinau and throughout Switzerland – a task that is as relevant and urgent today as it was then. The water conservation organization is fully committed to protecting rivers, streams and lakes, improving their ecological quality and creating habitable water environments for people, animals and plants. Nexell – specialist for Salesforce and Nexellerator
