What is API technology?

API (application programming interface) refers to programming interfaces through which two computer programs can interact without any further intervention. Imagine API as a global plug that fits every socket.

API technology facilitates automatic data exchange between two completely independent IT systems. This means that customer-specific information, such as addresses and e-mail addresses, or our delivery services with the desired location and delivery time, are directly available to you.

AddressChecker

With AddressChecker, you reduce the number of items returned as a result of false or fraudulent addresses? AddressChecker compares personalized addresses (with name), addresses without a name (street, house number, postcode and town only) and parts of an address with Swiss Post’s master data, even while your customer is entering their details. The system uses autocomplete for the registration process.

Shipping option and desired delivery time

Offer customer-oriented shipping and receipt options in your shop. Thanks to the numerous options, your customers can make use of services such as evening and Saturday delivery or delivery during a selected time slot.

Alternative delivery locations: PickPost and My Post 24 terminals

As an online shop operator, you have the option of offering your customers the PickPost and My Post 24 services directly via your shop as alternative delivery locations for their orders. Customers with a customer number (User ID) can choose from 2,400 PickPost points or more than 100 My Post 24 terminals. This means you can offer a simple, modern and greatly appreciated delivery option. The new services offer your customers maximum flexibility in terms of where and when they receive their consignments. Your customers are automatically notified by us when the consignment is available for collection at an alternative delivery location.

As an online shop operator, you have the option of offering your customers the PickPost ((232-205 pickpost)) and My Post 24 ((232-203 my post 24))services directly via your shop as alternative delivery locations for their orders. Customers with a customer number (User ID) can choose from 2,400 PickPost points or more than 100 My Post 24 terminals. This means you can offer a simple, modern and greatly appreciated delivery option. The new services offer your customers maximum flexibility in terms of where and when they receive their consignments. Your customers are automatically notified by us when the consignment is available for collection at an alternative delivery location.If you integrate PickPost and My Post 24 into your shop, your customers will enjoy the following advantages:

  • Selection using the map means automatic addressing to a location with a PickPost service or My Post 24 terminal.
  • Existing PickPost and My Post 24 customers do not need to enter their User ID any more.
  • Customers who have not yet registered for PickPost or My Post 24 will be registered automatically and can use the services immediately.

Barcode

With the barcode API, you can generate and print labels with a barcode for your parcels and express items directly via your system. This simplifies the shipping process and enables you to combine consignment data with your own data, thereby saving costs and time.

Identification with Login Post Connector

The Login Post Connector is an integrated identification system for online shops, similar to those you may be familiar with from social media platforms. It allows your customers who have a Swiss Post login to log in to your shop using their Swiss Post username and password. This means they no longer need to enter their delivery address for each order, as it is automatically sent to your online shop by Swiss Post.

Alternative delivery address additional information

With the additional “alternative delivery addresses” module, your customers can even select alternative delivery locations that they have stored with us. This can be, for example, «My Post 24» terminals, «PickPost» points or a business or holiday address.
