Post E-Health in the canton of Geneva
Successful pioneer of the patient record
New: Swiss Post and the Canton of Geneva extend e-health agreement by a further four years
Swiss Post and the Canton of Geneva’s department of employment, social affairs and health are to continue their collaboration on the electronic patient record (ePD) MonDossierMedical.ch for a further four years. The two partners have signed an agreement to this effect. Today, more than 24,000 patients and 680 professionals in the healthcare sector use MonDossierMedical.ch. Swiss Post’s electronic patient record is the only active ePD in Switzerland to date that meets all of the requirements defined in the Confederation’s eHealth strategy and complies with international standards.
The current MonDossierMedical.ch was introduced across the canton in mid-2013 and is provided to all patients free of charge. It is based on the first eHealth Suisse-compliant pilot project “e-toile”. The canton of Geneva developed “e-toile” together with Swiss Post and, in 2011, it was launched in several of the canton’s municipalities. Back then in Geneva, the electronic patient record represented the first Swiss attempt to link all healthcare professionals in the treatment chain.
Strategy-compliant and internationally networked
In the autumn of 2011, “e-toile” was awarded the label “Nationwide – Strategy-compliant – Multi-Community 2011” by the eHealth Suisse coordinating body, which was set up to implement the eHealth Suisse strategy by the Confederation and the cantons.
