Import goods into Switzerland
Comparison of services

If goods are purchased abroad, the foreign supplier is usually in charge of shipping to Switzerland. As soon as the goods arrive in Switzerland, they must be cleared through customs – the recipient pays the VAT and any customs duty. Depending on the channel, Swiss Post handles customs clearance, for example for small goods, goods or entire truckloads. This page shows which services Swiss Post can offer to support importing. With URGENT Business Import, for example, the Swiss recipient can pay the transport costs or even have a consignment collected abroad. With GLS, any charges and costs can be flexibly divided between the sender and recipient. Our list of frequently asked questions provides more information on the subject of importing.
