With our identification solution, we handle the task of obtaining an electronic copy of ID documents. The high-quality processes comply with the guidelines set out by FINMA, the Telecommunications Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

Preconditions
What you need for Letter with ID check

Only business customers with a billing relationship can use the Letter with ID check service.

You record your customer data via the call center or using the digital onboarding process. Swiss Post will obtain the electronic copy of the ID document on your behalf. The data is transferred back to you through the DataTransfer interface. Thanks to automatic Track & Trace, you have your consignments under control at all times.

Identification is only available for private individuals at home addresses.

The following ID documents are accepted:

Passport
Identity card
Foreigner’s residence permit

Rich Content Section

You receive an electronic copy of your customer’s ID without them having to go to a shop.
You receive an ID check form on which the mail carrier confirms the identification.
You get the customer’s physical signature on the contract.
As a business customer, you can acquire new customers easily and efficiently. You save on costs and meet all statutory requirements.

The disposable envelope is provided with a sufficiently large window to ensure the address and consignment barcode have enough space.

The layout includes

The consignment barcode 98.09.... with the corresponding ID
The recipient address
The data matrix code with the corresponding content (preliminary returns provision)
“Return as unregistered” overprint

Here’s how to get started

Contact us via Product Support or directly via your Swiss Post contact person.
We will discuss the next steps together.
Connect your IT to the electronic DataTransfer interface and the “Track consignments” web service.
Create a “final proof” based on the specifications for letters with ID check (PDF, 217.8 KB)[Media | Not Accessible].
Produce test consignments for a test run once you have received our approval.
After completing a successful test, send letters with ID check and contract signing to your customers.
