Transporting large quantities of dangerous goods

Dangerous goods are materials and products that could pose a danger to people, objects and the environment when transported. When transporting these goods, we distinguish between four order types or channels.

Order types and channels when shipping dangerous goods

Domestic letter and parcel channels Please consult our “dangerous goods” page.

International letter and parcel channels Please consult our “dangerous goods abroad” page.

Dangerous goods in large quantities (1,000 points rule) The 1,000 points rule is a calculation formula for determining a specific quantity of dangerous goods. Dangerous goods in the 1,000 point rule may NOT be transported via the parcel channel but can nevertheless be shipped via the Swiss Post Swiss-Express “Day” channel.
