Legally Valid Signature
The electronic signature goes the last mile in digital processes
With the electronic signature you integrate a legally valid signature into your processes. You therefore save time and money with the digitisation of internal or external business processes for which it was previously necessary to spend time printing, signing and sending documents.
Used in many ways
We can no longer imagine the digitisation of business processes without electronic signatures:
- Electronic signatures have a «sealing effect» for digital documents, which is perfectly suited for proving integrity.
- An electronic signature can be considered equivalent to a handwritten signature if the legal requirements for this are met.
- With an electronic signature it is ensured that the signing natural or legal person is identified without any doubt.
An electronic signature therefore offers a clear improvement in the performance and quality of business processes and the legal security we know from written communication.
Personal electronic signature
The Swiss Signature Act (ZertES) makes a qualified electronic signature equivalent to a handwritten signature. This means you can provide the following with a legally valid digital signature:
- All kinds of contracts
- Internal and external approvals
You achieve simple integration of the personal electronic signature into your business processes with the SuisseID Signing Service.
Legally valid electronic archiving
Documents which are subject to the company accounts decree (GeBüV) can also be archived electronically to save on costs. Companies fulfil the GeBüV requirements by electronically signing the digital data with an organisation certificate. This means that even after years it is ensured that the archived documents are safeguarded by the company and have not been changed at a later point in time. As an alternative to internally creating the signature, this can also be efficiently outsourced via the SwissSign Signing Service.
According to the Ordinance of the Swiss Federal Department of Finance on electronically transmitted data and information (ElDI-V), all electronic invoices which are subject to the Value Added Tax Ordinance have to be digitally signed with an organisation certificate. Alternatively the SwissSign Signing Service is available as a cost-saving outsourcing service.
Since 1 January 2011, the Swiss rules of procedure have made it newly possible to submit electronic petitions to courts. The electronic petition is submitted via an approved delivery platform such as IncaMail and is signed with a qualified electronic signature according to the Federal Act on Electronic Signatures (ZertES). For the qualified digital signature, SuisseID or additionally also the SuisseID Signing Service can be used.
