On request, we can support you with various services and options, ensuring that your address is also reliably updated by third parties.

Service and features

With the “Change of address with forwarding” online service, you can notify us of your change of address so that we can update your personal customer address in our database and forward your mail to you.

The following functions and value-added services are available:

  • Change your personal customer address in Swiss Post’s database.
  • Arrange a forwarding order with Swiss Post.
  • Add other people for whom the current order applies.
  • Select an individual start date from which the change of address or forwarding is to apply (starting immediately or from a specific date).
  • Once you have consented to the “Address update” service, Swiss Post will inform third parties already in possession of your old address of the change if they request it.
  • With the “Notification of move” value-added service, you can inform companies of your new address quickly and easily. The selected companies will be notified directly by Swiss Post.
  • Receive a welcome letter from Swiss Post and benefit from useful tips, information and vouchers.
  • Get a detailed overview of all upcoming, current and completed orders for your address.

Who is this service for?

The “Change of address with forwarding” online service is suitable for private individuals and business customers who wish to inform Swiss Post of their current address and have their mail forwarded.

To use the “Change of address with forwarding” online service, you must log in and register for the service.

FAQs

An order is suitable both for private customers and businesses that would like to receive without delay at their new address addressed postal items which have been sent to their old address due to a move.

Ideally, you should issue your order once you are certain of the time at which the order should take effect. If you issue us your order later than four working days prior to its intended start, please submit it no later than 11 p.m. We can only ensure the order takes effect on the following day if you comply with this deadline. Such an order would be an express order, surcharge: CHF 10.

If you do not have a login for swisspost.ch verified by mail, orders will require at least four days’ prior notice.

There are three options for issuing us with your forwarding order.

Issue the order online

You can place your order online at any time. To do so, you simply require a Swiss Post Customer Login verified by mail.

If you do not have a Swiss Post Customer Login and do not wish to register, the following two options for issuing an order are available to you:

Issue the order at the counter

You can place your order at the counter of your nearest Swiss Post branch. Please ensure you bring a valid ID with you.

Issue the order using a form

You will also find a solution in a branch with partner. On request, you can obtain the necessary forms to place your order. Please observe the notes when filling in, signing and sending back the form to us, and include a copy of your ID in the enclosed envelope.

The “Change of address with forwarding” order is valid for a period of one year. After this period has expired, consignments sent to the old address will be returned to the sender with a corresponding remark. Debt collection documents can only be forwarded within the debt collection district.

The following are generally excluded from forwarding:

  • Domestically and abroad: consignments with a poste restante or military address, Innight consignments to be delivered as part of general area delivery services, PromoPost consignments, as well as free newspapers and consignments from other delivery businesses.
  • Abroad: court documents, debt collection documents, parcels and consignments with military addresses.

Mail items with your old address are first sent to the corresponding branch postdelivery office. Based on your order, they will then be forwarded to the new address. Swiss Post requires one working day for forwarding this mail.

You can change or cancel your issued orders as follows:

Online
  • Up to 2 days prior to expiry
  • Access is possible via the login for swisspost.ch, or in the case of one-off orders, without a login using the direct link in the confirmation e-mail.
