Register a change of address and have mail forwarded

An order is suitable both for private customers and for businesses that would like to receive without delay at their new address all addressed postal items which have been sent to their old address because of a move.

Ideally, you should place your order at least four working days before the desired start date for the order. Our working days are Monday to Saturday. You can place an express order up to 11 p.m. the evening before at the latest. However, this is subject to a surcharge. If you have a verified customer login, you can issue the order here.

There are three options for issuing us with your forwarding order.

Issue the order online

You can place your order online at any time. To do so, you simply require a Swiss Post Customer Login verified by mail.

If you do not have a Swiss Post Customer Login and do not wish to register, the following two options for issuing an order are available to you:

Issue the order at the counter

You can place your order at the counter of your nearest Swiss Post branch. Please ensure you bring a valid ID with you.

Issue the order using a form

You will also find a solution in a branch with partner. On request, you can obtain the necessary forms to place your order. Please observe the notes when filling in, signing and sending back the form to us, and include a copy of your ID in the enclosed envelope.

The “Change of address with forwarding” order applies domestically for 6, 12 or 18 months, and abroad for 12 months. After this period has expired, consignments sent to the old address will be returned to the sender with a corresponding remark. Debt collection documents can only be forwarded within the debt collection district.

The following are generally excluded from forwarding:

• Domestically and abroad: consignments with a poste restante or military address, Innight consignments to be delivered as part of general area delivery services, PromoPost consignments, as well as free newspapers and consignments from other delivery businesses.
• Abroad: court documents, debt collection documents, parcels and consignments with military addresses.

Mail items with your old address are first sent to the corresponding branch postdelivery office. Based on your order, they will then be forwarded to the new address. Swiss Post requires one working day for forwarding this mail.

You can change or cancel your issued orders as follows:

Online

• Up to 2 days prior to expiry
• Access is possible via the login for swisspost.ch, or in the case of one-off orders, without a login using the direct link in the confirmation e-mail.
