Activate in just a few steps

Have you purchased your Post Visa Prepaid card at a Swiss Post branch or at postshop.ch? 2. Create user account and register card
3. Top up credit

Download the Post Visa Prepaid App free of charge from the Apple App StoreTarget not accessible (iOS) or Google PlayTarget not accessible (Android). The app is your control center: check your credit, top up the card, view transactions and manage the card.

1. Enter serial number: Enter your card’s 12-digit serial number. You’ll find this beneath the barcode on the back of the card.
2. Select Basic or Upgrade: Decide whether you want to select the Basic service (without ID, immediately usable) or Upgrade (with ID document, higher limits). You can also upgrade your card later in the app.
3. Enter your personal details: Enter your name, date of birth and gender.
4. Confirm e-mail address: Enter a valid e-mail address and confirm it with the code sent by e-mail.
5. Register mobile number: Enter your mobile phone number and confirm it with the code sent by SMS.
6. Enter your home address in Switzerland: Enter your valid Swiss home address.
7. Accept GTC: Read and accept the General Terms and Conditions.
8. Set app PIN: Set an app PIN and optionally activate biometric data (fingerprint or facial recognition).

Your card is now registered and ready to use immediately with the entry-level limits (Basic).

Optional: Upgrade – higher limits through personal identification

Would you like higher limits and cash withdrawals? Verify yourself anytime in the app:

• Upload a valid ID document (passport or identity card)
• Provide a selfie to confirm your identity
• Generally checked within a few hours
• Upgrade activated automatically – higher limits apply immediately

1. Open the Post Visa Prepaid App and log in
2. Tap on “Top up” on the homepage
3. Select “Bank transfer (IBAN)”
4. Copy your personal IBAN from the card or have it displayed as a QR code
5. Make a transfer to this IBAN in your bank’s e-banking
6. You’ll receive a push notification once the money has been received – your credit balance will be visible immediately

Availability: usually within seconds in the case of instant payment, otherwise 1–2 working days depending on the bank. Minimum top-up amount: CHF 25

Use card

Your Post Visa Prepaid is ready to use immediately after registration and initial top-up. Make contactless payments in-store, securely online or when travelling – wherever Visa is accepted. Keep track of your credit and spending at all times in the app.

• The serial number can be found beneath the barcode on the back of the card.
• To register, you need a valid Swiss home address.
• You can switch your card to the Upgrade option (ID verification) subsequently in the app anytime.
• If you lose your card: block the card immediately in the app. A replacement card will not be issued automatically.
