The debt collection extract is an official document issued by the competent debt collection office. It shows whether a person has been the subject of debt collection proceedings since they moved to their current address or in the past five years at the most. The extract also shows the status of debt collection proceedings.

• Passport (only Swiss passports are accepted if ordering an extract from the debt collection register)

• Valid foreigners’ residence permit for Switzerland or the Principality of Liechtenstein

4. You will then receive an order confirmation. The digital debt collection extract will be sent to you by e-mail as an electronically signed PDF file. This generally takes just a few hours.

If you order your debt collection extract online, your request will be forwarded fully automatically to the relevant debt collection office. The orders are processed by the debt collection office in the sequence in which they are received. Your order will usually be processed within a few hours. Once your order is ready, it will be sent fully automatically to the e-mail address you have provided. The time it takes to deliver the debt collection extract depends solely on the processing time at the relevant debt collection office.

1. Request your extract from the debt collection register in your nearest Swiss Post branch.
2. The Swiss Post employee checks and scans your proof of identity and creates an application, which you will be asked to check. You check the information and certify that it is correct by signing. The Swiss Post employee then scans the signed order and forwards it to the relevant debt collection office.
3. The extract will be sent to you by post within a few working days.

Swiss Post uses your application data for information purposes only, in order that it can be forwarded to the relevant authorities. Swiss Post will delete your application and all information as soon as the application has been completed.

An extract from the debt collection register can be ordered by any private individual (natural person). The service can be ordered in all self-operated Swiss Post branches or online. Firms and companies (legal entities) cannot order debt collection register extracts. You can order an extract for yourself (self-certification sent to your residential address).
