Special events

A large number of letters and cards sent privately relate to events such as a birthday, death, birth or wedding. Four new special stamp designs aim to cover as many of these special events as possible.

Four special stamps: Marriage, Birth, Mourning, Congratulations

Letters still play a very important role in certain events. Who would send a wedding invitation by e-mail or post a death announcement on Instagram? That’s why we’ve aimed to express the feelings and emotions associated with events such as mourning, birth, marriage, birthdays and exam results on the envelope as well as the stamp. Kriens-based designer Uwe Stettler chose traditional designs to hint at the content of the letter enclosed within the envelope.

Two white doves are depicted on the special stamp.

Marriage

White doves are a symbol of peace, innocence, love and fidelity, which is why they have been chosen to indicate a wedding celebration.

Special stamp with a cuddly elephant toy design.

Birth

Toys, picture books and play mats tell letter recipients that a new playmate has entered the world.

Special stamp with a black umbrella.

Mourning

The umbrella symbolizes compassion for those grieving. Protection from the rain represents the alleviation of suffering.

Special stamp with cupcake design.

Congratulations

The cupcake is a contemporary design and the ideal stamp for birthday invites or exam success.
