100 years International Chess Federation
Chess is one of the oldest games in the world. It’s very intellectually demanding, widespread in many cultures and played around the globe.

Are you one of the 605 million people who play chess on a regular basis? As the motto of the International Chess Federation reminds us, “Gens una sumus” (“We are one family”). To celebrate the Federation’s 100th anniversary, a special stamp is paying homage to this universal game. Enjoy the mesmerizing, vividly coloured geometric and abstract chess figures that intersect and overlap harmoniously – just like the precisely calculated moves used to outwit an opponent.
