Rich Content Section

In the early 19th century, aeroplanes revolutionized the transport of goods, passengers and postal consignments. Airmail stamps and stickers have been a huge success. In summer 1924, a large number of people wanted to witness the departure of the first postal flight between La Caquerelle in the Canton of Jura and Lausanne, carrying over 20,000 letters and postcards. 100 years on, the flight will be reenacted on 31 August 2024 with a Fieseler-Storch aeroplane and has been reproduced on some beautiful philately products.
