Pro Juventute – Constant change

The designs are a reinterpretation of one of the first Pro Juventute stamp sets dating from 1915. They portray children and young people in their environment, which is continually changing.

In 1912, Pro Juventute was founded to combat the spread of tuberculosis – financed by the sale of a charity stamp. The stamp surcharge continues to benefit the foundation’s projects to this day. In 1912, Swiss Post allowed Pro Juventute to sell a 10-centime stamp that was not valid for postage, and so the popular stamp set began. The current stamps are a remake of the 1915 postage stamps. Incidentally, when UV light is shone on the new stamps, the original designs from back then can be seen – get ready for some surprises!
