Solidarity for Blatten
A sign of hope: the “Solidarity for Blatten” special stamp supports the Lötschental valley community affected by the landslide – with emotion, creative energy and active solidarity.
Rich Content Section
The special stamp commemorates the devastating avalanche of rubble and ice on 28 May 2025, which severely hit the villages of Blatten and Ried. It depicts the village church and the sheet of stamps features the quotation “Ds Härz schlaat wiiter” (Our heart is still beating) by Mayor Matthias Bellwald – an expression of courage and confidence. Designed by Sara Meier from Brig-Glis, it combines regional solidarity with a clear promise of help. The selling price of CHF 5.00 per stamp goes entirely to the Swiss Red Cross, which is supporting the local people. Swiss Post covers the CHF 1.20 logistics costs of the face value. Each stamp is a token of sympathy – and a small contribution that can make a big difference. The stamp is available in all Swiss Post branches and online at postshop.ch.
