Pro Patria ‒ Swiss cultural heritage

The Pro Patria stamps shine the spotlight on tangible and intangible cultural assets – from buildings to living traditions. This issue puts cultural diversity on display.

Rich Content Section

Pro Patria stamp

The new Pro Patria stamps are dedicated to Switzerland’s cultural richness in all its diversity. They focus on material cultural goods such as handicrafts and buildings, as well as intangible cultural goods such as traditions, music, knowledge and customs.

The designs are linked by a punched-out Swiss cross in the middle of each stamp – an eye-catching detail with powerful symbolism. This stamp issue was designed by the illustrator Sandra Staufer, a Swiss resident abroad, who reflects on her cultural roots from a distance.
