Stamp 200 years boat trips on Lake Constance

In 1824, a steamboat travelled on Lake Constance for the first time. The “Wilhelm” connected the Swiss municipality of Romanshorn with the German town of Friedrichshafen. While it transported only goods at first, passengers were later carried, too. Currently, boats serve all three countries that border the lake – Switzerland, Germany and Austria. The stamp depicts the calm and peaceful atmosphere and beautiful nature that can be enjoyed from the boat.
