FAQs
Product samples are currently delivered only with unaddressed advertising. If you have a “No advertising” sticker on your letter box, we will not deliver any unaddressed advertising to you – which means you will not receive any product samples, either.
Would you like to change that? If so, simply remove the “No advertising” sticker from your letter box or cover it with an “Advertising OK” sticker.
Swiss Post is legally obliged to deliver consignments with a recipient address – regardless of whether it’s a letter, a parcel, a newspaper or indeed addressed advertising.
If your letter box does not have a “No advertising” sticker, we will deliver unaddressed promotional mailings to you, such as promotional offers, discount coupons, prize draws and product samples.
Anyone who doesn’t want to receive unaddressed advertising can put a “No advertising” sticker on their letter box. However, this prevents only unaddressed advertising with a commercial purpose. Unaddressed mail of an official nature that is intended for information purposes, e.g. election/vote-related materials, can also be delivered by Swiss Post to letter boxes with a “No advertising” sticker.
Anyone who doesn’t want to receive addressed advertising can register on the Robinson list with the Swiss Direct Marketing Association (SDV). Entries in this list are binding for SDV members and are often respected by many non-members as well. However, the Robinson list exclusively offers you protection from addressed advertising sent by companies with whom you do not have a business relationship. In other words, if you are already a customer with a company, an entry on the Robinson list will not prevent that company from being able to send you addressed advertising. Additionally: Swiss Post is not in a position to check compliance with the Robinson list for addressed promotional mailings from other companies. If an SDV member sends addressed advertising to a person entered on the Robinson list, Swiss Post is legally obliged to deliver that consignment. In this scenario, the recipient of the consignment should contact the SDV member directly.
