Generation Z: our voice matters!

Want a say in your own future and to change Switzerland? Challenge accepted! We – Amina, former university intern and Fiona, a commercial apprentice – are this year’s Swiss Post ambassadors for the “Change Switzerland” project. We put forward the views of generation Z and our own ideas at three workshops. Find out what we discussed in this blog article.

The “Change Switzerland!Target not accessible” project, run by the Federation of Swiss Youth Parliaments (DSJ), has been giving young people a voice for several years now. What we’re working on isn’t purely hypothetical either – in fact quite the opposite: our ideas could actually make it to the Swiss Federal Parliament! As part of its commitment to young people, Swiss Post is supporting the project for the fourth time.

Together with other young people from all over Switzerland, including just under 50 from Swiss Post, we discussed the topics of “Work & Life”, “Communicating Work” and “Working Future” at three fascinating workshops.

Perhaps you’ll see us soon – in the Federal Parliament!

A remarkable 166 proposals were submitted Switzerland-wide on the engage.ch website. 15 young parliamentarians, who are supporting the project, will now choose one proposal each, discuss it with the author and then introduce it into political debate at national level. 10 of these proposals come from us – so who knows, perhaps one of them will make it to the Federal Parliament! Crazy, isn’t it?!
