Address enquiry
Retrieve customers and debtors

Anchor Navigation

Find the addresses of former customers, donors and individuals again, even if you haven’t had contact with them for years. Swiss Post uses partially automated search processes to look up individual personal addresses – both within Switzerland and abroad. Even in the event of a death, Swiss Post is very occasionally able to track down heirs.

Your options
Our services

Using a partially automated process, we make enquiries about the addresses you have submitted. Our aim is to determine the current address for the address you have submitted. The address search initially covers Switzerland but can be expanded further afield if requested. Thanks to this multi-level process that uses a variety of data sources, we manage to find the current address of the person we are looking for in the majority of cases. The success rate for searches within Switzerland stands at around 60 percent, and the figure for foreign addresses is in the region of 30 percent. We will be happy to advise you so you can find the best solution to meet your needs.

We would be pleased to provide you with personalized advice.

Our database
Multi-level address search

You decide what level you start at. After each step, you will receive feedback about the results and can then decide whether you want to keep going and what steps you wish to take.

Level 1: information sources within Swiss Post

At level 1, we compare your address data with Swiss Post’s address database. To perform this comparison, we use our reference data from the street directory, our comprehensive delivery and movers’ files database and from officially published death notices. Our roughly 12,000 delivery staff, who have in-depth local knowledge, are another source of information. The search takes a maximum of five working days.

Level 2: Switzerland’s residents’ register offices

We first contact the residents’ register office in the last known location at which the person in question deregistered, to find out where they intended to move – or whether they have perhaps died in the meantime. The search takes a maximum of ten working days.

Level 3: international addresses

Research into international address data is based on various data sources: post offices, residents’ services, official directories and address service providers. The search takes a maximum of 30 working days.

We currently offer the address search for the following countries:

  • Belgium
  • Germany
  • France
  • United Kingdom
  • Italy
  • Luxembourg
  • Netherlands
  • Austria
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • USA

Multi-level model with basic price and match price

A basic price is charged for each address search. We also charge a match price in the event of a successful search. If our research yields a new address or information about an address, it is counted as a match. For annual turnover from CHF 200,000, you will benefit from a discount model.
