You need to have successfully passed the baccalaureate to embark on this training pathway.

You’ll also:

• Think analytically and possess the ability to identify correlations
• Be strong in mathematics and English
• Be reliable and responsible 
• Be resilient and enjoy practical tasks

The training lasts for two years. 

You’ll attend vocational school two days a week to expand your theoretical knowledge.

You’ll undertake the one-year basic training in the learning environment of Swiss Post’s ICT campus. You’ll expand your practical knowledge through modular learning units and smaller projects.

During the subsequent practical training year, you will gain in-depth specialist knowledge at a Swiss Post IT or PostFinance training location in the Bern or Zofingen area.

After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you’ll have a wide range of further training opportunities open to you. These include:

• A degree programme at a university of applied sciences, traditional university or at a Federal Institute of Technology
• Professional qualifications or higher professional examinations, such as in the fields of application development, IT solutions, service management or project management
• Specialist courses in computer science
