Are you going on holiday? Or is your office closed temporarily? With the “Retain mail temporarily” service, we keep your letters and parcels safe until you return. Afterwards, you can collect your mail at a counter, or we will deliver all the consignments to you in a single bundle.

Here’s how it works

Ideally, you should place your order at least four working days before the desired start date for the order. Our working days are Monday to Saturday. You can place an express order up to 11 p.m. the evening before at the latest. However, this is subject to a surcharge. If you have a verified customer login, you can issue the order here.

If you don’t have a customer login, you can issue the order with us as a guest, but only four days in advance.

Issuing an order at the counter

You can issue your order over the counter at any Swiss Post branch. Please ensure you bring a valid ID with you.

Issue the order using a form

You will also find a solution in a branch with partner. On request, you will receive the necessary forms to issue your order. Please follow the instructions. Send us the completed and signed form, including a copy of your ID, in the enclosed envelope.

For the basic price, we retain your mail for two weeks. The offer is valid for business customers and private customers (18 years and older). It is cheaper to arrange retention online.

The publisher is responsible for ensuring that your newspaper arrives at your desired address. This means you can issue an order to your publisher to temporarily interrupt the subscription.

You can change or cancel your issued orders as follows:

Online

Up to 2 days prior to expiry
Access is possible via the login for swisspost.ch, or in the case of one-off orders, without a login using the direct link in the confirmation e-mail.
