With the “Signature” and “Assurance” value-added services, Swiss Post is liable for your consignment and it will only be handed over in exchange for confirmation of receipt – and, on request, only to the person specified by you. This ensures that important items arrive safely and can be traced.

The benefits for you:

  • Liability in the event of a claim: Swiss Post is liable for your consignment in the event of theft, loss or damage.
  • Secure receipt: the parcel is only handed over in exchange for a personal signature – this increases security and traceability. (Except in the case of an authorization for delivery from the recipient)
  • Avoidance of losses: because the consignment is not simply deposited, the risk of theft or misplacement is reduced.
  • Transparency: customers can use the “Track consignments” service online to track when and by whom the parcel was received.

Choose the right value-added service for your parcel. The two options “Signature” and “Assurance” offer delivery against signature – the difference lies in the level of liability in the event of a claim. Compare the services at a glance:

“Assurance” process

The value-added service barcodes are available to business customers with their own franking licence at:

  • “Barcode” web service
  • “Barcode” API module
  • “Order barcodes & shipping labels” online service:
  • “Domestic parcel labels” online service

Business customers who do not generate barcodes themselves receive sheets with self-adhesive value-added service barcodes via the “Order forms and brochures (DocuCenter)” online service.

Authorization for delivery

Private customers with a Swiss Post Customer Login can also issue us with an electronic authorization for delivery prior to delivery. This means that we can deliver the parcel even if no one is at home.

Labelling the consignment

The consignments are labelled with a special label in addition to the consignment number:

Track consignments

With the “Track consignments” online service, you as the sender can see at a glance:

  • The current shipping status of your consignment
  • The name of the recipient as soon as the parcel has been delivered
